It’s Pi Day Today (March 14th) and White Center’s 3.14 Bakery Celebrates

This may seem complicated, but it’s really easy to understand.

Easy as pie.

Or pi.

See, today is March 14, or 3.14 for short.

And there’s this wonderful little bakery in White Center called 3.14 Bakery.

David and Jessica Haury, proprietors, named their bakery 3.14 because 3.14 is the shorthand version of the numerical representation of … pi.

Pi is approximately equal to 3.14159265 in the usual decimal notation.

And pi rhymes with pie.

Pie, as in terrific pies and other items which David and Jessica and their staff are very good at baking.

As everyone knows, pi is the mathematical constant whose value is the ratio of any Euclidean plane circle’s circumference to its diameter.

This is the same value as the ratio of a circle’s area to the square of its radius.

Of course.

So anyway, 3.14 Bakery is celebrating today with Personal Pies (small enough for one person to gobble up) for just $3 each. Look for cherry, apple, peach and marionberry, says 3.14’s Jennifer.

And check out their Pie Pops for only $1 each.

This article was so effective that it emptied the bakery of pretty much every bite of pie. Well done.
