We hate to state the obvious, but…depending on how far above sea level you are, and whether there’s any precipitation, it’s either snowing…or not…in the general White Center area.

The National Weather Service issued a ‘Winter Weather Advisory’ at 8:11 a.m. Sunday morning (Jan. 15), warning of “up to three inches” of snow will fall over the next 12 hours:

* SOME AFFECTED LOCATIONS…SEATTLE… TACOMA… BREMERTON… AND SHELTON.

* TIMING…SNOW SHOWERS…LOCALLY HEAVY…WILL PERSIST INTO THE EVENING HOURS.

* TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…UP TO 3 INCHES.

* IMPACT…NEAR OR BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES WILL RESULT IN SOME ICY ROADS THIS MORNING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW IS ISSUED FOR THE LOWLANDS WHEN 1 TO 3 INCHES IS LIKELY TO FALL IN 12 HOURS.

Today: Snow showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tonight: Snow showers likely, mainly before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31. Northwest wind at 7 mph becoming south. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

M.L.King Day: A 50 percent chance of snow showers. Cloudy, with a high near 36. South southwest wind between 8 and 16 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Monday Night: Snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 34. Southwest wind between 9 and 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tuesday: Snow showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. West southwest wind between 7 and 10 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tuesday Night: Snow showers. Low around 34. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Wednesday: Snow before 10am, then rain. Snow level rising to 1000 feet. High near 40. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Wednesday Night: Rain. Cloudy, with a low around 39.

Thursday: Showers. Cloudy, with a high near 44.

Thursday Night: Showers. Cloudy, with a low around 38.

Friday: Rain. Cloudy, with a high near 44.

Friday Night: Rain. Cloudy, with a low around 42.
