Miss Seafair 2011 to Speak at White Center Cultural Center Friday

Miss Seafair 2011, Veronica Quintero, is scheduled to speak this Friday (April 20) at the White Center Cultural Center, during its monthly Trusted Advocates Storytelling Program, which begins at 5:30 p.m.

The event will take place at the center, located at 9421 18th Ave SW (at SW Cambridge).

A light meal will be served at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Storytelling Presentation and Q&A at 6 p.m.

According to a bio, Veronica is:

A daughter of migrant farm workers, Veronica grew up in the small town of Mattawa, WA, graduated as one of two class Valedictorians and received the Gates Millennium Scholarship in 2009. Passionate about learning, Veronica is currently fulfilling her dream in attaining a college education. As a first-generation college student, Veronica is a third year student at the UW who is studying Communication and Spanish. She dreams of working with Univision, to use the power of news/media to positively impact the Latino Community. Veronica loves traveling and is planning to study abroad this year.

Also, next month’s presenter will be Hassam Maalin Guyco, a Kenyan Warrior who sought a new life in the U.S.
