JOB: John Knox Presbyterian Church Seeking Director of Children & Family Ministry


John Knox Presbyterian Church is a vibrant, multi-generational, “worshipping church being transformed by Jesus that equips people to participate in God’s redemptive work” serving South Seattle.

We are a theologically conservative member of PCUSA with 400+ active members. South Seattle is a diverse area, and JKPC is intent on being involved in God’s mission here.

We are looking for a Director of Children and Family Ministry (CFM), who will be responsible for managing and directing all ministry to children ages birth-6th grade and their families as they seek to pass their faith on and help children develop into lifelong followers of Christ.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Director Children and Family Ministry (CFM) is responsible for managing and directing all Ministry to children ages birth-6th grade and their families as they seek to pass their faith on and help their children develop into lifelong followers of Jesus Christ.

This includes activities associated with the Children’s Sunday AM Programs (SAM), Vacation Bible School, JAM (Jesus And Me- our mid-week outreach), any Children’s Program for a church sponsored seminar or conference in which a children’s program is requested by Session, the Nursery and Several Special Events for families each year.

The Director will work directly with the Preschool Director and the Director of Student and Family Ministries to ensure continuity with and between all three youth programs. The Director will also work closely with other ministry teams as necessary to ensure that children and families feel represented and welcomed to serve through-out the ministries of our church and to ensure that parents and primary caregivers feel they are being equipped and supported in their efforts as the primary agents of faith formation to enable their faith to be passed on from one generation to the next through the power of the Holy Spirit.
