PHOTO: Sneak Peek of the Tree that White Center will be Lighting Up Saturday

Aileen Sison was out Monday at Westover Farm in Maple Valley, helping to find a holiday tree for this Saturday’s Tree Lighting Ceremony – set for 5 p.m. Dec. 1 at Veteran’s Triangle – and she gave us permission to post this sneak peek pic:

The White Center Chamber of Commerce is paying for the tree.

Mark Ufkes and Aileen will be picking it up this Wednesday morning (Nov. 28), and will be delivering it to Veteran’s Triangle Park by 10:30 a.m.

Aileen is also looking for speakers of different languages for the lighting countdown. If you can volunteer to translate this Saturday, email [email protected] or call 206.747.0802.

And don’t forget, just before Saturday’s tree lighting – at 4:30 p.m. – will be the unveiling of the memorial for Margaret Ryan, the White Center Blog Writer/Sales Rep who was killed two weeks ago.

If you would like to make a donation to help support this cause there are multiple ways for you to give via the White Center CDA (1615 SW Cambridge Street; 206-694-1082):

  • By mail – checks to be designated for “Margaret Ryan”
  • At office – checks, cash, SQUARE payment with credit or debit cards
  • By website – PayPal (be sure to put her name in the info box)
