McDermott is set to speak on how the county can support expanded regulatory policies that will help reduce open alcohol consumption in White Center, as well as on increasing penalties for graffiti and tagging.

Triangle Pub is located at the corner of Roxbury, 16th and Delridge.

Here’s the full invitation from outgoing President Mark Ufkes:

Chamber members and friends;

The next Chamber luncheon is Tuesday, March 12 at noon at the Triangle Pub (corners of Roxbury, 16th and Delridge). King County Council member Joe McDermott will speak on how the county can support expanded regulatory policies that will help reduce open alcohol consumption in White Center, and increase penalties for graffiti and tagging. These and many other issues were outlined in a letter to Council member McDermott in December, and he has been researching the various issues and will facilitate the discussion on what he and the county can do to put more teeth into enforcement and code violations that will help us make White Center cleaner and more family-oriented.

Highline School Superintendent Susan Enfield has also been invited to discuss our current strategic planning process for Highline Public Schools.

We will also announce the new Chamber board members recently elected, and install the new White Center Chamber President, Vice President, and other executive officers.

Mark L. Ufkes, Outgoing President – White Center Chamber of Commerce

    I hope that someone will ask why the White Center Chamber is no longer affiliated with the national chamber? Also why the White Center Chamber feels that they speak for all the citizens of the White Center area. Their constitution and by laws state they are to move forward and expand and support the businesses of White Center. Since the new by laws were written only businesses and professional people have votes. The people that they keep claiming to also represent can join the chamber but have no votes. This would appear that this in representation with out a vote which in our National Constitution is against the law. Why would any citizen join and support an organization which they can pay money into to support but have no voice. I find this thinking strange at the least Good Luck.

    When the person above is willing to use their full name instead of Bhystander, I will be more than glad to respond to each comment and concern listed above.

    Mr. Ufkes. Don’t you think you owe it to the people to answer any questions that are asked concerning your actions as a public servant without getting into a personal rat race. I us the name By Stander because I do not wish to get my political and civilian titles and jobs involved with the process. You always wave your so called political title and status in your actions so it is better to use the by stander title to avoid getting titles involved. But as a public figure I think you owe the public the answers. Thanks.l
