Explorer West Middle School is a small learning community where young adolescents thrive. Our faculty and staff focus on the individual student to meet them where they are, build on their strengths and address areas where they need to grow. Explorer West combines academic rigor with a special emphasis on the character of each student by fostering confidence and discovery. We are conveniently located on the West Seattle/White Center border and students attend from over 30 schools across Seattle and South King County.

We have had three students attend this middle school over the last dozen years and we strongly endorse this program. Most of us may remember middle school as a bad experience, but the kids who attend here actually like coming to school.
The program is small enough that students receive any individually needed attention, and the kids are all friends throughout the grade levels. This school has a very low tolerance for social misbehavior.
The academics are excellent, and the good study habits that my kids acquired here have served them well into high school and college. This program is highly regarded when it comes time to apply to quality high schools.
The staff are the best, caring and concerned, with lots of communications home, and a true commitment to the students future. The world would be a better place if all middle schools were like Explorer West.
