Salvation Army Seattle White Center offering opportunites for local youth
The Salvation Army Seattle White Center Corps and Community Center proudly host the two following opportunities for local youth:
“Since its beginning, the Cub Scout program has been a fun and educational experience concerned with values. Besides providing a positive place where boys can enjoy safe, wholesome activities, Cub Scouting focuses on building character, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills, and developing a spirit of community service.” As the Charter Organization, The Salvation Army has embraced these principles and equips adult volunteers to coordinate Cub Scout Pack 1865 for the younger boys in the community. Cub Scouting is for boys in 1st through 5th grades.
The Salvation Army is also the Charter Organization for Troop 1865 for boys ages 11 through 18. The Boy Scouts of America, www.scouting.org is one of the nations largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.
For over a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes – and, through over a century of experience, knows – that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.”
These 2 programs are free of Charge and are held on Wednesday from 5:30-7:00 PM. Also any adult volunteers who would like to sign up for Scouting should stop by and take a look.
