King County Medical Examiner identifies Burien boy shot in White Center
On Monday (March 24), the King County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 17-year old boy killed in a White Center shooting last week as Ruben Castillo, Jr. of Burien (read our previous coverage here).
Castillo was shot and killed Wednesday night, March 19, while sitting in the back seat of a car at a gas station near SW Roxbury and 15th Ave SW, after passengers exchanged words with a group at a nearby bus stop.
As the vehicle drove by the men near the bus stop one of the men opened fire, striking the car and hitting the victim. The driver of the vehicle drove to the fire station to seek aid for the injured teen.
The Medical Examiner ruled that he died of a gunshot wound to the torso in an apparent homicide.
The suspect is currently being held in the King County Jail on $1 million bail after a judge found probable cause to hold him on investigation of second-degree murder in connection with the shooting.
