Car thief steals SUV with 10-month old baby inside

Police have apprehended a car thief who sped away from a West Seattle convenience store Wednesday afternoon (Aug. 27) after stealing an SUV with a 10-month-old child inside.

The suspect fled the store – located in the 1600 block of SW Holden Street – in a black Ford Edge SUV just after 3:15 p.m., and headed south toward White Center.

Nineteen minutes after police began searching for the suspect, King County Sheriff’s Deputies and Seattle police found the SUV and the child – who was okay – parked near 8th Ave SW and SW 99th Street, near Dubsea Coffee:

Here’s a video from a surveillance camera of the actual car being stolen:

Anybody care to inquire as to why the baby was in the car alone? Seems to me like a couple people should have gone to jail, I love how he just kind of casually walks up to his car as it is being stolen with his child inside,

From the video, it looked like the suspect started the car up….were the keys in the car and still running?
