PHOTOS BY ISABEL: Highline Bears open season with 13-inning 1-0 win

The Highline Bears kicked off their inaugural season with an epic 13-inning win over the Snoqualmie Hurricanes at Steve Cox Memorial Field Saturday night (May 30), winning with a dramatic walk-off home run by Colton Kelly.

11-year old Photographer Isabel Herbruger shot some great photos of Kelly’s clutch hit, from his swing to meeting his excited teammates at home base (click images to see larger versions):



Look closely and you can see the baseball on its winning trajectory over the fences for the winning 13th-inning run. Hitter Colton Kelly celebrates as he rounds 1st base.


NOTE: This pic of Kelly was taken in the 10th inning, but it still fits what happened in the 13th!

The first pitches were thrown out by four young Little Leaguers. The catchers were pretty funny trying to catch the throws before returning the balls to the boys:
