Evergreen football player Kenney Bui passes away from game injuries

Tragic, heart-breaking news out of Harborview Medical Center in Seattle Monday (Oct. 5) – Evergreen High School football player Kenney Bui has passed away, apparently from injuries he suffered at Friday night’s game against Highline High School in Burien.

Our thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to the Bui family, and all who knew this young man.

A vigil was held Monday night (Oct. 5) in front of the 500 building at the TEC/Evergreen campus, located at 830 SW 116th Street in White Center.

Here’s a statement sent out by Susan Enfield, Superintendent of Highline Public Schools:

It is with great sadness that School Board President Bernie Dorsey and I share with you that TEC High School senior Kenney Bui, who was critically injured in Friday night’s Evergreen v. Highline football game, died this morning at the hospital.

This is a devastating loss for all of us — Evergreen students, families, and staff, and our entire Highline community.

Our deepest condolences go out to Kenney’s family and all who knew him. Please join us in keeping them in your thoughts and prayers.
