Fauntleroy Church UCC collecting turkeys for White Center Food Bank

Fauntleroy Church UCC will be collect turkeys for the White Center Food Bank this Sunday, Nov. 22.

Here’s their announcement:

For many years, Fauntleroy Church has been a collection point for the White Center Food Bank’s frozen turkey drive. Each year the White Center Food Bank provides a holiday distribution to local residents.

The holiday distribution is a special distribution in which families are given Turkeys (while the supply lasts – this is where you can help) and seniors are given a chicken, stuffing, potatoes, onions, fruit, vegetables and a dessert in addition to regular food bank staples.

Last year the Food Bank provided holiday meals for almost 900 families. The WCFB has purchased 200 turkeys but needs help to bridge the gap. In the winter, food costs and heating costs are higher, and having support from the food bank is the difference between having enough and being hungry.

You can help by bringing your frozen turkeys to church on Sunday, Nov. 22, and they will be delivered to the Food Bank that day. This is one small way we can share our abundance with our neighbors in need.

In addition, we’d like to give a shout out to the Fauntleroy UCC members for providing donations to purchase 80 frozen turkeys that will be donated on Saturday, November 21st to the White Center Food Bank.

Fauntleroy Church, UCC is located at 9140 California Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98136-2598.
