Local children in need will benefit from diapers, warm clothing and essential equipment as WestSide Baby launches their annual JOY campaign.

The seasonal campaign encourages the public to organize drives, donate online or to volunteer at WestSide Baby’s facilities in White Center in order to supply families in need with much needed items during the winter months.

In December alone WestSide Baby will serve 2300 children with items to keep them safe, warm and dry including more than 70 car seats, 500 bags of clothing and 80,000 diapers. Most needed items are Size 6 diapers, Baby shampoo / wash, winter coats, wipes, diaper cream, new underwear or socks, pajamas. Donations can be dropped off at WestSide Baby’s facility at 10002 14th Ave SW. Volunteer opportunities are available for adults, high schoolers and families throughout December.

Nancy Woodland, Executive Director of WestSide Baby says:

“There are 41,000 children aged 12 and under living below the federal poverty level in King County, and for those families, the effects of poverty can be far reaching and potentially devastating to physical and mental health. Through our annual JOY donation drive WestSide Baby will provide more struggling families with critical items such as winter coats and boots and essential safety equipment, clothing up to size 12, diapers and hygiene items that aren’t covered by any government assistance programs.”
