Student pepper sprayed after assaulting Security Officer at Cascade Middle School

A student at Cascade Middle School was pepper sprayed after assaulting a Security Officer at the school on Monday, April 11.

The student – whose identity was not released – was taken into police custody.

No word yet on the motive for the attack, nor if there were any serious injuries to either party.

Cascade is part of Highline Public Schools, and is located at 11212 10th Ave SW (map below).

Representatives from the school district declined to comment on the incident.

Here’s a note sent out to parents/guardians by Interim Principal Matt Kosteka:

April 11, 2016

Dear Parents/Guardians:

This afternoon a Cascade student physically assaulted a security officer. The officer deployed pepper spray. Medics treated the student for the effects of the pepper spray, and the student is currently in police custody.

    Just waiting for the parents to raise hell aboit this, and probably being unwilling to admit that their “sweet innocent baby” would do anything wrong. Call me a cynic, but it seems to be the way of the world these days..
