Body found in homeless encampment near White Center Monday afternoon


Seattle Police conducted a death investigation after a man’s body was found in an homeless encampment Monday afternoon (June 5) near State Route 509.

At about 1:15 p.m., police were called to respond with Seattle Fire to a reported drug overdose at an encampment in a wooded area along SR 509, near Myers Way and Cloverdale Street (map below).

The man’s cause and manner of death will be determined by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police are interviewing witnesses and are asking anyone with information to call investigators at (206) 684-5550.

    Another local man that may have been saved by a safe injection facility. Ignorance and intolerance are literally killing our neighbors.

    Why are these camps allowed to exist? They are enabling those with codependency and sheltering those that need medical assistance. It’s like sweeping people under the carpet.

      Because you forced us to have to go somewhere an the whole time if you gave us a controlled environment where we feel safe then an only then would you as well safe
