Police pursuit in White Center ends with one in custody Tuesday morning

The King County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a deputy sitting in his patrol car with his windows rolled down Tuesday morning heard a gunshot near SW 107 Street and 15th Ave SW (map below).

The deputy then observed a suspicious vehicle in the area and drove behind it.

Police say that the vehicle took off, and the deputy activated his emergency vehicle equipment and pursued. The driver failed to stop for the deputy.

The pursuit lasted just over a minute before the suspect crashed his vehicle and fled on foot. A K-9 was able to successfully locate the suspect about four blocks from the accident.

Police add that bullets were found on the suspect.

A bomb dog is currently searching for evidence.

The suspect was treated at the scene by medics and booked into jail. No other citizens were injured.

During the incident, South Seattle Community College was put into lockdown for safety. The school has since been reopened.
