UPDATE: Suspect Daniel ‘Capone’ Varela arrested in Kennewick


Daniel ‘Capone’ Varella has been arrested.

UPDATE: On Tuesday, April 2, Daniel Varela AKA “Capone” – wanted in connection with an attempted murder in White Center on Mar. 20 – was arrested after an anonymous tip that he was located at the Zintel Canyon Park in Kennewick, WA.

Members of the US Marshal’s Task Force located Varela sleeping in a brush area of the park.

He was arrested without incident and booked into the Benton County Jail in Kennewick.

As we previously reported, Police say that at around 2:25 p.m. on Mar. 20, a 55-year old male was in a minor vehicle collision with a fence and pole in the 1700 block of SW 98th Street in White Center.

When Deputies arrived, they found the male victim had been stabbed multiple times and his throat cut.

The victim was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

The victim survived, but is still recovering.

“Thanks to everyone who helped to locate and arrest Varela without incident,” Sgt. Ryan Abbott said.
