VIDEO: Police seeking public’s help identifying suspect in White Center rape

UPDATE APRIL 3, 2019: A ‘Person of Interest’ has been arrested in connection with this case. Read the latest update here.

The King County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help to identify a person of interest in a White Center rape investigation.

Police say that on Dec. 16, 2018 at approximately 12:15 a.m. a female victim was at a bar at the 5100 block of Ballard Ave NW in Seattle. She went outside to catch her rideshare home that a friend had ordered for her. A man in a black vehicle, possibly a Dodge Charger, led her to believe he was her rideshare driver.

The victim entered the vehicle, but while driving her home, the victim states the man pulled the vehicle over and raped her near the 11400 block of 5th Ave S. in White Center (map below).

Surveillance footage embedded below captured the person of interest near the victim’s home. This subject was described as possibly Hispanic and spoke with an accent. King County Detectives have, at this time, been unable to associate this man with any rideshare company.

Here are some screengrabs from the video showing the suspect:

Police urge anyone with information of whom this person of interest is, please call the King County Sheriff’s Office at 206/296-3311.
