Highline Public Schools seeking feedback on aging facilities & crowding issues
Highline Public Schools announced Thursday (April 23) that it is seeking input from the community on how to address the district’s need to build, repair, and renovate schools to meet educational needs, safety standards, and the community’s growing student population. After failing to reach the 60 percent vote needed to pass a capital construction bond, both in November 2014 and February 2015, the district must now decide how to address pressing enrollment and facility needs. Joe Van appointed to Highline School Board at special meeting Wed. night
The Highline School Board voted to appoint Chung (Joe) Van of SeaTac to the Director District 3 position during a special meeting on Wednesday, April 15. He participated in his first School Board meeting as a board member directly following his oath of office and the special meeting. Highline Public Schools first in county to install bus stop ‘paddle cameras’
Highline Public Schools announced on Monday (April 13) that it will be the first school district in King County to implement a school bus stop paddle camera enforcement program. The cameras, which have already been installed on five buses, are designed to capture motorists who are putting children at risk by ignoring flashing school bus stop arms as buses load and unload school kids.
