Help a family whose White Center area home was destroyed by fire
Sunday morning (Jan. 26) around 7:15 a.m., Eileen Riddle was awakened by some loud popping noises in her home near White Center. As she left her bedroom to investigate, she found her garage engulfed in flames. She and her daughter, Catherine, were able to get her terminally ill husband, Greg, as well as the family dog out of their house safely. The fire started in the garage and raged quickly into the attic, not setting off smoke alarms. While the Riddles were very fortunate to safely escape, by the time it was extinguished, they lost everything. The Red Cross, as well as neighbors, ...

VIDEO: Watch police chase, stop car on SR-509 near White Center
On Saturday night (Oct. 26), King County Sheriff's deputies chased – and successfully stopped – a car on SR-509 after witnessing it traveling too slow and weaving across the roadway. "Believing the driver was DUI, the deputy tried to stop the car and the chase was on," said KCSO Officer Charlie Akers. "Before the Guardian 1 (helicopter) arrived, the chase exited the freeway and went down surface streets. The driver also evaded spike strips that were deployed. A PIT maneuver was used when the lead deputy believed the driver was slowing down to do another u-turn down an on-ramp in the ...
