The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim killed in a July 20 shooting in White Center as James Edward Sears, 52, of Seattle.
Sears died from a gunshot wound to the torso, and the manner of death has been ruled homicide, according to the medical examiner’s report.
As we previously reported, the shooting followed a suspected DUI-related crash near 9808 16th Ave SW in which one other person was also injured.
Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after midnight on July 20.
The suspect in the July 20 White Center shooting that left Sears dead has made a first court appearance, where a judge set bail at $2 million. As we reported, prosecutors cited public safety concerns in requesting the high bail amount.
