Families in the Highline School District are invited to kick off the new school year at the Back to School and Health Fair on Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Greenbridge Plaza in White Center (map below).
The free, family-friendly event is hosted by the White Center Community Development Association (WCCDA) and Neighborhood House and offers school supplies, food, youth activities, and community resources to help local families prepare for the year ahead.
Organizers said the annual fair is about more than backpacks and supplies.
“Whether you’re coming for the school supplies, the delicious eats, or just to hang out with your neighbors, there’s something here for everyone,” organizers said.
Families attending the event can expect:
- Free backpacks and school supplies for children (child must be present)
- Hot meals including banh mi, burritos, halal sandwiches, and drinks
- Youth activities for all ages
- Health and community resource information
- More than 30 local vendor and nonprofit booths
The event is open to all, with a special welcome for Highline Public Schools families.
Organizers encourage attendees to register in advance at tinyurl.com/CDAB2School2025.
