UPDATE Aug. 14, 2025, 4:30 p.m.: Overnight striping work scheduled for 16th Ave SW and the SW White Center Cutoff has been postponed due to weather, King County Road Services announced Thursday, Aug. 14.
The work — originally set for Thursday from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. — was to include intermittent closures on 16th Ave SW between SW 100th and SW 107th streets, as well as on the White Center Cutoff.
Crews had planned to stripe lanes, with northbound and southbound traffic facing delays of 10 to 20 minutes.
But now, due to the threat of an incoming rain/storm/atmospheric river of doom, the work will be delayed.
“This is weather-dependent work,” officials said. “Due to wet weather in the forecast, this work has been postponed until a later date.”
King County Roads said it will share updates when the project is rescheduled and reminded drivers that businesses in the area will remain open during the work.
