The Seattle Fire Department and Washington National Guard are warning residents that they will be conducting an aviation exercise in the White Center and South Park areas on Tuesday, Sept. 16 and Wednesday, Sept. 17.
The drill will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days, with a National Guard helicopter expected to be seen circling over the area.
Officials said the purpose is to practice rescue operations in the event of a high-rise fire or a natural disaster such as an earthquake.
The first drill is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to Noon on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
The exercise is being coordinated by Seattle Fire and the Washington National Guard as part of regional preparedness efforts.
