The newly constructed Evergreen High School will host its Grand Opening and Open House for its new campus on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m.

The event is open to the public and will give community members the first opportunity to tour the new school.

Evergreen officials said additional opportunities to visit are planned later in the fall for those unable to attend the October celebration.

“Wolverine at Edit Creek” Painting by Jim Lamb

The celebration will also highlight a special piece of school history – “Wolverine at Edith Creek,” an original oil painting by Jim Lamb, Evergreen Class of 1964, has been permanently installed in the new building. The painting was commissioned by the Class of 1964 in honor of their 55-year reunion and had hung in the main office of the original campus for years. It depicts Evergreen’s mascot, the Wolverine, set against Edith Creek near Mount Rainier, where wolverines were documented returning in 2020 after a century-long absence. The painting also honors Lamb’s mother, Edith. Visitors can view the artwork during the Oct. 9 open house in the student commons, just outside the main gym and next to a student mural of women leaders and activists.

The new Evergreen High School was made possible through voter approval of the 2022 bond, which funded construction of a modern campus with capacity for 1,200 students in the northeast corner of the site. The project followed earlier design work funded by the 2016 bond and incorporated input from the Evergreen community throughout the planning process. Students continued using the existing buildings during construction, with the shiny new facility opening its doors on Sept. 3, 2025.
