Seattle Police arrested a 51-year-old SeaTac man described as a prolific drug trafficker following a months-long narcotics investigation, authorities said.

According to Seattle PD, narcotics detectives and the department’s SWAT team arrested the suspect Oct. 15 in the Westwood Village shopping area after observing him selling drugs in nearby Roxhill Park.

Detectives first identified the man after a July 16 arrest of a drug dealer in the 2600 block of Southwest Cambridge Street. That case led investigators to the SeaTac suspect, who police said has an extensive criminal history, including violent offenses and prior drug convictions.

While under surveillance, detectives reported he frequently traveled from SeaTac to South Park, White Center, and Westwood Village to sell narcotics. Police said his activities fueled drug overdoses, retail theft, and car prowls in the region.

On the night of his arrest, investigators watched as the suspect drove with his wife and children to Westwood Village. While his family shopped, he walked into Roxhill Park, where police said suspected drug users immediately approached him. SWAT officers arrested him without incident.

During the arrest, detectives recovered 178.6 grams of powdered fentanyl, 42.2 grams of methamphetamine, 41.5 grams of an unidentified white powder, $291 in cash, and drug paraphernalia including scales and packaging materials.

The man was booked into the King County Jail on multiple felony drug charges. His bail was set at $250,000.

Police noted that Roxhill Park, less than a mile from Chief Sealth International High School, has long been used for drug activity and the sale of stolen property.
