King County Prosecutors have charged two 15-year-old boys with unlawful gun possession in connection with last week’s lockdown at Evergreen High School in White Center, according to court filings.
The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged both juveniles on Monday, Dec. 22, 2025 with unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree and unlawful possession of a dangerous weapon on school premises. As we previously reported, these charges are related to a Dec. 17 incident that prompted a lockdown at Evergreen High School in White Center.
According to charging documents and a probable cause certification from the King County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report that a student had a loaded pistol inside a backpack on campus. School security detained one student, and deputies later recovered two handguns from backpacks attributed to the two juveniles. Authorities searched additional classrooms and students and did not locate any other firearms, according to the certification.
Prosecutors said cases involving guns on school grounds are handled through traditional court prosecution.
Prosecutors asked at the first appearance for both suspects to be held in secure detention. The court – after hearing from prosecutors, defense, juvenile probation counselors, and family – ordered the two 15-year-olds to electronic home detention with conditions, including no unauthorized contact with Evergreen High School and that they stay in touch with their juvenile probation counselors.
Arraignment hearings for both juveniles are scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 23 at the Clark Child and Family Justice Center in Seattle, according to court records.
As with all criminal cases, the respondents are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
The juveniles are not named under our policy of not identifying minors accused of crimes.
