The White Center Food Bank has reached the halfway point of its 2025 End of Year Appeal, raising nearly $50,000 toward its fundraising goal, and is asking the community to help close the remaining gap as demand for food assistance continues.

The food bank said the campaign comes after a year of major growth and financial milestones, including the completion of a capital campaign that raised $1.5 million above its $8.6 million goal, allowing the organization to pay off debt and become the owner of its new building.

In 2025, the food bank also sold out its fourth annual Taste of White Center fundraiser and expanded its gleaning programs at the West Seattle and Burien farmers markets, resulting in more than 45,000 pounds of donated produce, according to the organization.

The group also reported strengthening community connections through artist collaborations, donor appreciation events and meetings with community partners.

The White Center Food Bank said the End of Year Appeal is intended to ensure continued access to nutritious food for neighbors across the region and is encouraging supporters to give an amount that is meaningful to them.

“Despite current challenges, our best days are ahead,” organizers said. “Together, White Center Food Bank will continue bringing people together, one plate at a time.”
