The team behind Tim’s Tavern in White Center will assume day to day operations of Seattle music venue Slim’s Last Chance under a new agreement aimed at preserving live music programming and maintaining continuity for staff and artists, according to social media announcements from both businesses.

Together In Music, the group operating Tim’s Tavern, said it will take over daily operations of Slim’s while continuing to run Tim’s existing White Center location.

“Big news. Together In Music is assuming day to day operations of Slim’s Last Chance. TIM’s Tavern in White Center is staying open. Continuity, community, and live music…moving forward. The shows must go on,” the organization wrote in a Facebook post.

Slim’s Last Chance owner Celeste Lucas said the deal keeps the Slim’s brand operating while providing stability during ongoing challenges facing the venue.

“We poured our heart and soul into Slims and it is really hard to let go of our brand, but the outcry from Seattle has been heard,” Lucas wrote. “We needed to find someone we trusted enough to carry it forward with the support and preservation of our amazing long time employees.”

Lucas said she and Michael will be at Slim’s on Feb. 13, 14 and 15 for farewell events, with “the new phase of Slims” beginning Feb. 16.

Together In Music owner and operator Mason Reed said the group intends to maintain the venue’s legacy while supporting musicians and staff.

“We’re honored to carry the torch of a venue that has meant so much to so many,” Reed said. “As a final gift to the Seattle music scene, Celeste and Michael have made it possible for us to steward Slim’s into its next chapter. We’re deeply grateful for their trust and for the legacy they’ve built.”

According to the announcement, Tim’s Tavern in White Center is not closing and is not relocating. The group said it will continue programming at Tim’s while expanding its efforts by stewarding Slim’s Last Chance.

Operational priorities at Slim’s will include maintaining continuity, honoring existing bookings, supporting staff and artists, and preserving the venue’s community focus.

Additional updates and programming details will be shared as they become available. More information is posted at timslivemusic.com and slimslastchance.com.
