A targeted patrol by the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) in White Center led to multiple arrests, traffic stops and the recovery of a firearm on St. Patrick’s Day, according to authorities.

The operation took place on Tuesday, Mar. 17 and was conducted by KCSO’s Southwest Precinct Special Emphasis Team, with assistance from patrol deputies, Metro bicycle officers and the Washington State Department of Corrections.

Deputies conducted 24 traffic stops during the patrol, issuing multiple notices of infraction, police said.

Several people were arrested on a range of charges, including unlawful transit conduct and outstanding warrants from multiple jurisdictions. Those included a Seattle Municipal Court trespass warrant, a Sheriff’s Office reckless driving warrant and a Kitsap County domestic violence assault warrant.

Authorities also reported one arrest for attempting to elude law enforcement and another involving unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Deputies recovered one modified firearm during the operation.

In addition, deputies located an active registered sex offender in a park with children present, resulting in a Department of Corrections violation, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
