Tim’s Tavern announced this week that it will remove and rebuild its current patio as part of a settlement plan to expand and reintroduce live music in White Center next summer.
As we previously reported, Tim’s had been cited by King County in 2024 for operating as an outdoor performance center without zoning approval, following months of noise complaints.
Owner Mason Reed said the new changes come after several meetings over the past few months with King County officials, resulting in a path forward that includes activating the tavern’s entire parking lot to create a larger outdoor space.
Reed said the new design would allow the venue to secure a temporary use permit to host up to 60 performances throughout the season.
While the requirement to dismantle the existing patio was described as a setback, Reed emphasized that the project is an opportunity to grow.
“This will put us in a position to not only continue serving the local music community but also to bring in some nationally touring acts,” Reed said.
“We couldn’t do any of this without your support,” Reed said in an announcement to the community, noting that investor-only events are being planned as a thank-you.
The project is expected to open by summer 2026.
“Here’s to the next chapter of TIM’s Tavern stronger, bigger, and better than ever,” Reed added.
Tim’s is located at 9655 16th Ave SW:
