On Sunday, April 23, 2023, Glendale Evangelical Lutheran Church will conclude its ministry of public worship with a closing celebration, but its legacy of providing vibrant Christian ministry to the greater Burien community will continue.
As we previously reported, Church leadership has decided to sell the property, which includes what may be one of the largest pipe organs in a church on the west coast.
A service of “Celebration at the Conclusion of Worship and Ministry” will begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 23, and an informal fellowship reception will follow.
The continuing legacy of Glendale Evangelical Lutheran campus includes:
Thien-An Trueliving Baptist Church from West Seattle will be taking over the operation of the campus April 30 and will continue supporting the four worshiping congregations and the Glendale Christian School.
Glendale Lutheran Church was organized on July 14, 1944, and began gathering in the Chapel on December 19, 1948.
Over the years, the campus has grown to include the Parish Education Building which was completed on August 30, 1955, and the 730-seat Sanctuary which was dedicated on June 18, 1967.

Worship is at 10 a.m., and the celebration begins around 11:15 a.m.
