Take a final walk-through of Evergreen High School on Saturday, June 14

Evergreen High School will welcome alumni, families and community members for one final stroll through the original campus buildings during a farewell event on Saturday, June 14, from Noon to 2 p.m.

The event, titled “Evergreen Farewell: One Last Look,” invites guests to explore select areas of the campus before the school transitions into a newly constructed facility this summer.

Visitors can walk through the gym, library, 200 building and athletic fields, reconnect with old classmates, enjoy light refreshments and take photos to commemorate the occasion.

The school, located at 830 SW 116th Street, first opened in 1955 and has been a staple of the White Center community for nearly 70 years.

The farewell marks the end of an era for the original school buildings, which are set to be demolished to make way for new softball and baseball fields and expanded parking as part of Highline Public Schools’ district-wide capital improvements.

Parking will be available in the west lot near the football field, with limited additional parking in the south lot near the library. Overflow parking may be available at the Evergreen Aquatic Center.

No formal program is planned, and attendees are encouraged to drop in at any time during the two-hour window.

The new Evergreen High School building – currently under construction – is scheduled to open to students for the 2025–26 school year.
