DESCRIPTION:The public is invited to learn about a study of impacts of Sea-Tac Airport on Wednesday\, Nov. 6\, 2019 at Burien City Hall. \nThis free\, open meeting will run from 7 – 9 p.m. \nThe 2018 Washington State Legislature adopted an operating budget requiring the Department of Commerce to contract for a study of the Sea-Tac International Airport. \nThis comprehensive study documents the current and on-going effects of the operations of the airport. \nThe study must be submitted to the Legislature by June 1\, 2020. \nThe area for the study is SeaTac\, Burien\, Des Moines\, Federal Way\, Normandy Park\, and Tukwila. Each city is represented by two individuals: one who is city staff and one public representative. DESCRIPTION:Twenty Volunteers are needed to help replant a fire-damaged peat cell at Roxhill Park on Saturday\, Nov. 16. \nVolunteers will be asked to show up at 10 a.m.\, rain or shine. \nHere’s more info: \nTwo years after an underground peat fire in Roxhill Park\, the community has successfully organized with the Green Seattle Partnership\, the delivery of 300 native grasses\, ferns and perennial plants to restore the damaged area. \nRoxhillPark.org is seeking at least 20 volunteers to assist with planting on Saturday\, November 16th. Bring gardening gloves and wear warm outdoor clothing. Shovels\, warm drinks and snacks will be provided. \nWe’ll meet near the restroom and parking lot along 29th Ave SW\, across the street from 9227 29th Ave SW.
