New King County Councilmember Girmay Zahilay on Monday, March 9, 2020 met with local community members to discuss King County’s new coronavirus quarantine facility in White Center, and he detailed their concerns in a series of Tweets.
Zahilay is the son of Ethiopian refugees who was elected to the King County Council District 2 seat in 2019, when he defeated longtime Councilmember Larry Gossett.
As we previously reported, the county built 14 modular unites at 206 SW 112th Street in the Top Hat neighborhood to house coronavirus victims.
Here’s Zahilay’s thread of Tweets:
Tonight I met with White Center residents who are concerned about a Corona virus quarantine facility that is proposed to be stood up in their neighborhood.
Here are the things I heard from them (thread 1/10) pic.twitter.com/0n8rMRB2Ap
