It was announced this week that Sili Savusa – Executive Director of the White Center Community Development Association (White Center CDA, the CDA) – will be leaving to lead the Pacific Islander Community Association of Washington.

Savusa’s official last day will be Aug 31, 2023.

“Sili has been our fierce and loyal leader for the past decade, and is well-loved by community, staff and the Board,” officials said.

“It is bittersweet to see her leave the CDA, but at the same time, we are also excited about what great work she will continue to do in her next endeavor,” said KaLehua KaApana Faletogo, White Center CDA’s Board Chair.

Aaron Garcia is Interim Executive Director

The Board also announced that starting June 1, 2023, Aaron Garcia (pictured above) has stepped up to become its Interim Executive Director.

Garcia’s love and commitment to the White Center community has not gone unnoticed.

“With his continued work on the White Center H.U.B. project and his many years working with the CDA, this was an easy decision for us to make,” the board said.

The White Center CDA’s annual fundraiser is transitioning into a celebration of Sili’s contributions to the organization and Garcia’s transition into his new role.

“Join us on Oct. 6, 2023, and be a part of the festivities!”

“Thank you for your continued support and stay tuned for updates to come on any further developments.”
