King County Parks Outdoor Halloween Carnival for Families will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, from 2-5 p.m. at Steve Cox Memorial Park (map below).

“The White Center Teen Program is thrilled to welcome families back to Steve Cox Memorial Park for our Annual Halloween Carnival! This year the festivities return outdoors, and families can stroll thru the park to participate in FREE interactive games and other Fall inspired activities.”

In addition to the Carnival, families and teens are also invited to join us in person or on zoom for a month of Spooky Town related programs.

As noted, all Carnival activities and Fall Recreation programs are FREE.

Donate to White Center Food Bank

The White Center Food Bank will also be in attendance Oct. 26 for anyone wishing to donate to the Food Bank. The WCFB donation list currently includes:

  • Shelf Stable Food: Canned Meat/ Fish (pop-top), Rice Noodles, Spices, Peanut Butter, Coffee, Broth, Condiments (BBQ, mustard, mayo), Sugar, Rice (2lb bags), Soy Sauce, Brown Sugar, Tamari Sauce, Oil, Ponzu Sauce, Dried Chiles, and Ramen.
  • Non – Food Items: Baby Wipes, and Sizes 2-3-4-5-6 Diapers.

This year’s festivities are sponsored by the Teens and Staff of the White Center Teen Program. The WCTP offers free recreational, educational, and social enrichment programming to youth ages 12-19 between Tuesday – Saturday from 3-8 p.m. WC Teen Program participants are volunteering in person and remotely during the month of October to help create the carnival games, arts and crafts giveaways, and park wide decorations.

Outdoor Halloween Carnival on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 2-5 p.m. 

Families are welcome to walk thru the park to pick up FREE goodie bags to fill with carnival game prizes, DIY arts and crafts projects, official Spooky Town slime, community resources and giveaways, and even pumpkins (while supplies last.)  Families can also keep it moving through an “Underground Spooky Town” Tour in the basement of the Log Cabin, Dragon Eye hunt on the multipurpose field, the I Spy Spooky Town Adventure in the windows of the Historic White Center Field House, and several step and repeat photo opportunities throughout the park.

NEW in 2024 – Haunted Tours

In additions to the cute (but not at all scary) Underground Spooky Town Tour, the Teens will also be hosting Haunted Tours in the Historic Handball Court Bldg.

Fall Family Programs at the Log Cabin

  • Log Cabin Jeopardy for all ages with your host, Ridwan on Thursday, October 17th from 6-7pm. Zoom link available.
  • Spooky Town Painting Party with local artist PAZ (all supplies provided) for all ages on Thursday, October 24th at 6pm. Please sign up in advance at 206.296.4542 to reserve your spot. Zoom link available.
  • Spooky Town Grab and Go crafts available for pick up at the Carnival as well as from the White Center Teen Program at the Log Cabin (1321 SW 102nd) between 3-8pm any Tue – Sat.  DIY craft tutorials available at http://bit.ly/SpookyTownattheLogCabin
  • Steve Cox Memorial Park Fall Scavenger Hunt runs from Friday, October 26th thru Saturday, November 16th. Completed hunts can be turned in for prizes during Spooky Town or any Tue – Sat between 3-8pm at the WCTP.
