A suspected burglary in progress led to an arson investigation early Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024 in White Center, with one individual arrested at the scene, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

The fire, believed to be deliberately set in an occupied building, was reported alongside an initial burglary call.

Deputies responded promptly and took a suspect into custody nearby. The individual has been booked into King County Jail on charges of arson and burglary.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident, police said.

The Sheriff’s Office Fire Investigation Unit was dispatched to the scene to assume control of the inquiry. Authorities have yet to release a preliminary cause for the fire or elaborate on the events that linked the burglary to the blaze.
