Seattle Police are investigating a shooting connected to an altercation in the city’s Beacon Hill neighborhood that left a man wounded and later found in White Center Friday morning, May 8.
Police said patrol officers responded around 10:54 a.m. to reports of a man brandishing a weapon and possible gunfire near 35th Avenue South and South Findlay Street.
When officers arrived, all involved parties had already left the area, police said.
About an hour later, deputies with the King County Sheriff’s Office located a victim in White Center suffering from a graze gunshot wound to the head. Medics transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
Seattle officers returned to the original Beacon Hill location and found damage to a nearby recreational vehicle caused by gunfire.
Police determined an argument involving multiple people occurred before the shooting. During the altercation, the suspect fired a gun, striking both the RV and the victim, investigators said.
The suspect fled before officers arrived and had not been located as of Friday.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation. Detectives with Seattle police’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit will handle the case.
