King County is seeking residents from White Center and Skyway to serve on a new Community Advisory Board that will help shape the Department of Local Services’ 2026 Participatory Grantmaking process.
According to King County, applications are now open for community members interested in joining the board and helping design a community led funding process intended to support local priorities.
The new grantmaking model builds on the county’s previous Participatory Budgeting program, which allowed residents to help determine how public funds were spent in their communities.
Board members will work together to create the grantmaking process, including designing a Request for Proposals process and developing outreach and community engagement plans aimed at encouraging participation from local residents.
King County said the advisory board will play a key role in ensuring the funding process reflects community needs and priorities in White Center and Skyway.
