A 19=year-old Seattle woman was arrested on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024 on suspicion of second-degree murder following the death of her 73-year-old landlord during a dispute over unpaid rent in White Center.

According to the King County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect allegedly admitted to fatally stabbing the victim during an altercation at her residence on 16th Ave SW in White Center on Friday.

Deputies were called to the scene after the suspect reportedly showed her sister the victim’s body in a video call.

The suspect is in custody pending formal charges, with arraignment anticipated Oct. 31, 2024.

There was a first appearance on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, for the suspect, who was arrested by the King County Sheriff’s Office. The Court found probable cause for Murder in the Second Degree.

King County Prosecutors asked for the Court to order her held on $2 million bail, which was granted.

No previous cases involving this suspect have been referred to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

She remains in the King County Jail.
