UPDATE: Washington State Patrol (WSP) detectives are seeking witnesses after a hit and run collision killed a motorcycle rider on southbound SR 509 near Meyers Way late Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025.

WSP said 911 callers reported a serious collision at about 11:40 p.m. Troopers determined the crash involved two cars and one motorcycle, and sadly, the motorcycle rider died at the scene.

Further details revealed that a white passenger car was driving erratically and struck the motorcycle dislodging the rider.

A gray vehicle subsequently struck the motorcycle, then fled the scene exiting to Meyers Way.

Parts from the suspect vehicle were left at the scene. It appears that the bumper of this vehicle was metallic blue painted white. The vehicle will have front and rear end damage.

The road was closed for about four hours and 39 minutes while investigators documented the scene.
