Residents of White Center and the greater North Highline community are invited to a public safety forum this Thursday night, April 3, 2025, starting at 7 p.m., hosted by the North Highline Unincorporated Area Council (NHUAC) at the North Highline Fire Station (map below).
The event will feature key updates from two of the area’s top public safety leaders: Fire Chief Jason Gay, who now leads both the North Highline Fire District (NHFD) and King County Fire District 2 (KCFD2), and Captain Chris Przygocki of the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO). They will be joined by Community Service Officer Nate Hammock.
Discussion topics will include the new KCSO response protocols, recent public safety developments in White Center, and updates on the long-term fire service consolidation between NHFD and KCFD2.
“Knowledge is power,” NHUAC organizers said in a statement. “Learn, share, and help make our community a better place.”
Chief Gay took over leadership of NHFD and KCFD2 in November 2023 after the retirement of longtime Chief Mike Marrs. The two departments entered a 20-year consolidation agreement in 2019, and now jointly serve approximately 20,000 residents.
Captain Przygocki, who joined KCSO’s Southwest Precinct 4 in October 2024, oversees law enforcement in Burien, SeaTac, and unincorporated areas like North Highline.
The public is encouraged to attend, ask questions, and bring a neighbor.
Parking and entrance to the event are located behind the fire station.
